Amazing restaurants in Sydney are loved by everyone. But you need to be selective, because there are so many out there, that it will be hard for you to find the quality ones which is worth your time and money. Here is a list of amazing restaurants in Sydney where I have been too.
1) Hanare , 73 Foveaux Street Surry Hills NSW 2010, Australia
Hanare has amazing Japanese food with reasonable price for dinner! The place is cozy and quiet with friendly staffs. The food was full of flavors and had nice presentation (twice I’ve ordered sashimi salad). It runs an all-you-can-eat promotion at lunch time Monday – Saturday 12pm 2:30pm (except public holidays) for $22. It’s a must go place!
2) Cassia , 2 Phillip Street Sydney NSW 2000, Australia
I absolutely love the food at this place and they have a big share menu which allows me to choose my favorite dishes without being restricted by any set of menu. The food there really amazes me every time I walked in. Great service and amazing food!!! Highly recommend going there for special occasion! 3) Rockpool Bar & Grill , 66 Hunter Street, Sydney NSW 2000, Australia
Rockpool always has been my top choice when it comes to fine dining experience in Sydney. Every course from the amuse bouche was elegantly prepared but had great flavor that burst into your mouth with its deliciousness. The food was also perfect and I had a great time with my friends on the night! 4) Cafe Sydney , 7/2 Castlereagh Street, Sydney NSW 2000, Australia
Visited this place for late lunch and we were able to see beautiful view of the harbor bridge and the opera house from outdoor area where we enjoyed our meal. For me, it felt like I was in heaven while having fine dining experience at cafe sydney. They have huge menu where we can choose different kind of cuisines such as traditional australian dishes, fresh seafood or vegetarian choices etc. Prices are reasonable too! 5) Rockpool Bar & Grill , 80 Pyrmont St, The Star Casino Complex, Pyrmont NSW 2009, Australia
The burger at Rockpool Bar & Grill is definitely one of the best burgers I’ve ever tried in my life! The wagyu beef was beautifully cooked and tasted amazing with a little bit truffle flavor. The hand cut chips were crispy and you should try it with a try of their bloody mary which simply makes your day complete! 6) Bistro Guillaume , 188-190 Victoria Ave, Kingsford NSW 2032, Australia
They do have the best mussels I’ve ever had along with great service from friendly staffs. They serve both traditional French as well as modern Australian dishes which are all worth to try there!!! Price also is affordable so it’s perfect for special occasion dinner.
The following are one man’s opinion on the best restaurants in Sydney. They are not in any particular order, but I would advise you try them all!
Argyle Fine Dining
This is one of the very best restaurants in Sydney and also Australia. I have been to Argyle many times over the last few years and the food has always been amazing. The service is good too which means that it doesn’t jar on your experience when you are paying top dollar for great food. Each time i go to Argyle, I’m amazed at how good the food is even though after a while every dish starts to resemble the previous dishes except with different garnishes to set them apart. That being said, this place still gets my top vote for best restaurant in Sydney.
Roadhouse BBQ
This is the only reason why I go to Newcastle now, even though I have family up there, Roadhouse BBQ has some of the best American style BBQ that you can find. The place itself looks like something out of a spaghetti western with its rough looking exterior and cowboy paraphernalia on the walls inside. You’ll be hard pushed to get a table at short notice but it’s worth the wait. Make sure you order an extra side of mac n cheese if you can fit it! It pairs really well with the barbequed meats on offer at Roadhouse which are varied and delicious. Keep your eyes open for one of their special events too where they do things like all you can eat ribs, which is a great chance to try their more special meats on offer.
Vue de monde
This 5 star restaurant in Melbourne has some of the best food in Australia. Every time I go there it’s always a magical experience and my food is always delicious with very friendly service from staff who obviously love what they do. The location itself above the Rialto Towers in South bank offers great views of Melbourne too so you get to see where you are eating at one of the best spots in town while having your meal prepared by expert chefs. My personal favourite dish is the octopus starter followed by flounder for main course but every other dish I’ve had here has been amazing so I would highly recommend trying them all out. My all time favourite restaurant in Australia.
Tetsuya’s
One of the most famous restaurants in Sydney and for very good reason, Tetsuya’s specialises in Japanese fusion cuisine like you’ve never had before. The tasting menu is unrivalled anywhere in the world and the service is impeccable which makes for a great night out with friends or loved ones. You can sit there and simply shut up and enjoy what you are given to eat and drink with no distractions from other people likely to turn up at most other places where it might be more about group gatherings than individuals, so this is definitely one of my top rated restaurants in Sydney that I would recommend to anyone who likes great food well with minimum fuss.
The Bridge Room
This is another 5 star restaurant in Sydney with top notch food and service. This has some of the best steaks you can find anywhere along with other great dishes so it’s no wonder why this place was voted as one of the top restaurants in Sydney recently. The location, inside Double Bay’s Intercontinental hotel makes it a very classy affair (and expensive) but well worth trying at least once if you like really good steak.
